Go To Church, Get a Massage

P.A.N.I.C. (People Against Massages In Church) is an organization that is united against couples who like to give neck rubs and do other things to each other in church. Well, it’s not a real organization. You see, it started as a joke but people took it seriously. Turns out, that this is something that is actually pretty distracting to people. I, for one, am annoyed by it as it distracts me as well. Thankfully I sit on the front row at my church.

I don’t have anything against people touching each other in public provided it’s tactful. But something seems weird to me when I see couples (married and unmarried) do it in church. What do you think about people getting all touchy feely in church? Let me know by leaving a comment below.

About Commenting
Please don’t overthink the idea of leaving a comment. I am just interested in your opinion and not interested in anyone leaving a doctrinal dissertation with accurate research on this topic. In other words, it’s just your opinion. Being right or wrong is not important.

I love theology and the challenge of making deep teachings non-boring. Let's face it, most of the time we hear theological teaching, it really is boring. Does it really have to be that way? Nope.

  • I'm not even going to guess what you mean by P.A.N.I.C. because that would get this site shut down.

Hand holding is okay. Over the shoulder is okay with me. But rub downs? Too far in my opinion. I like the massage room idea because some church services (like at my church) are just too long!

Personally, I'm more in support for the group known as P.A.N.I.C. rather that P.A.M.I.C., but that's just me.

I don't mind a little arm over the shoulder or hand holding, but when people are stretching out on the pews and getting full-body, Swedish massages, then I would tend to lean towards a 'little inappropriate.'

Instead of churches having "Cry Rooms," maybe they should get massage rooms with tables, candles, and the sermon tuning into the room as you get a lovely rub-down....just a thought.
